The women’s team kicked off their spring season this past weekend with a big win over Lindenwood University. Palmer outscored their opponent 26 – 12 with scores coming from Stephanie Snoeberger(2), Megan Kulczycki(1), Rachel Leibovitz(1) and Alex Booker(1). Claire Tomashek with two conversions.
Coach Tela had this to say about the day “It was a good Saturday which started with a visit to Dr Corey and Andy Webbs office. Dr Corey really impacted the team by giving us a good motivational speech and tour.
On the field the team really stepped up, it was a collective effort; the senior players showed great leadership, while the new plays jelled in nicely and looked composed. We had to play a conservative game due to the wet weather; we resorted to playing tight instead of our expansile attacking game. Defensively we started sloppy but we finally matched their physicality and kept them from scoring. Overall it was a good start to the season, we still have a lot to work especially around the breakdown. This week we prepare to face another good team; so its back to the drawing board constant improvement. WIN!”
